Structural plywood is a critical load-bearing and decorative material in modern construction. Its construction quality directly impacts project safety and durability. To ensure proper construction, the following standards must be strictly adhered to.

Material Requirements: Structural plywood must comply with relevant national standards (such as GB/T 17656-2022) and possess sufficient strength, rigidity, and weather resistance. Sheet thickness typically ranges from 12mm to 25mm, with a moisture content controlled between 8% and 12% to prevent deformation and cracking. Quality documentation and a visual inspection are required prior to site arrival to ensure there are no warping, delamination, or obvious defects.

Substrate Preparation: Before construction, the substrate surface must be flat, dry, clean, and free of oil, dirt, or loose debris. For concrete substrates, a primer should be applied to enhance adhesion. For steel structures, dedicated studs should be welded or bolted, with spacing no greater than 400mm, to ensure uniform load distribution.

Installation Process: Structural plywood is secured by nailing or gluing. Nail spacing should be controlled between 150mm and 200mm, with edge spacing no greater than 100mm. Nail heads should be sunk 2mm to 3mm into the board surface and treated with rustproofing. If gluing is used, use high-strength structural adhesive, apply evenly, and secure under pressure for at least 24 hours. Joints between adjacent panels should be staggered to avoid continuous seams. Use caulk if necessary to seal.

Acceptance Criteria: After completion, inspect the panels for flatness (deviation ≤ 3mm/2m), verticality, and joint security. Hollowness should be detected by tapping, and load testing should be performed as necessary to ensure compliance with design requirements.

Strict adherence to these standards will effectively improve the construction quality of structural plywood and ensure the safety and longevity of the building structure.
