Structural plywood, as a high-performance engineering material, is widely used in buildings, bridges, ships, and other fields. Its quality is directly related to project safety and durability. Therefore, strict compliance with relevant standards is key to ensuring the performance of structural plywood.

Internationally, structural plywood standards primarily refer to ANSI/APA PRG 320 (US) and EN 14080 (Europe), while my country adheres to standards such as GB/T 9846-2015 "Ordinary Plywood" and GB/T 17656-2018 "Plywood for Concrete Formwork." GB/T 9846 specifies the classification, dimensions, appearance, and physical and mechanical properties of plywood, while GB/T 17656 focuses on plywood for concrete formwork, emphasizing its flexural strength, elastic modulus, and durability.

Core performance indicators of structural plywood include static flexural strength, elastic modulus, bond strength, and water resistance. For example, according to GB/T 9846, the bond strength of Class I plywood (weather-resistant and boiling water-resistant) must not be less than 1.0 MPa, while the static bending strength is generally required to be ≥40 MPa. Furthermore, structural plywood must pass formaldehyde emission limit testing and meet the E1 level (≤1.5 mg/L) or the more stringent E0 level standard to ensure environmental friendliness.

In terms of production technology, structural plywood must utilize high-quality wood veneers and undergo a high-temperature, high-pressure gluing process to ensure sufficient curing of adhesives (such as phenolic resin and urea-formaldehyde resin). The standard also has strict regulations on the number of plies, grain direction, and moisture content to ensure dimensional stability.

In short, the implementation standards for structural plywood not only regulate material properties but also guarantee its reliability in engineering applications. Companies should strictly adhere to national standards and obtain third-party testing and certification to ensure product quality meets industry requirements. In the future, with the development of green buildings, the environmental standards for structural plywood will be further improved.
